In the Germano household, grapes are a family story.

Our story begins among the rows of Cerretta, one of the geographical designations of the Barolo hills. We have always been winegrowers, but as farmers and grape sellers, we chose to change course and venture into winemaking. In 1975, our farm was established: first by Ettore, and then by Sergio, who took over in the 1980s and decided it was time to label the first bottles under the name “Ettore Germano”.

Today we are a team of four minds. If our bottles could speak, they would tell our story.

Sergio, CEO (Cultivator, Experienced and Obstinate), a winemaker by birth and a businessman by the wine’s doing.
Elena, precise in accounting and an artist at heart: between numbers and ceramics, everything finds its place.
Elia, the seasonal chameleon: tractor driver in spring and summer, international sales in fall and winter.
Maria, an unfiltered winemaker, just literally though.

The new generation

In the cellar, the generational transition has unfolded with balance and ease. Maria oversees the winemaking with expertise and a contemporary sensibility, while Elia moves between the vineyard and the commercial side, building connections and new perspectives. Together, they bring a fresh light to the family story: discreet, determined, and ready to grow season after season.
